About Laura

Laura E. Gunden, A.P. is a licensed Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Following pre-med studies at the University of Florida, she attended the Sorbonne in Paris, France. While living in France, she developed an interest in alternative medicine as holistic treatments were commonly used in conjunction with Western medicine to optimize healing. Upon her return to the United States, she attended the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL, where she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine, Oriental treatment modalities and homeopathy. Laura opened her acupuncture and wellness practice, Acunique Alternative, in February, 2004. She modeled her private practice on the individualized and personal style she experienced as a patient in France and insists on personally handling all aspects of patient care from A to Z.
